Engagement Season is Here!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year ​

Calling all lovebirds–it's time to pop the champagne! Engagement season is here!

According to WeddingWire, nearly 40% percent of marriage proposals will happen between the months of November and February. This four-month stretch is by far the most popular time of the year to pop the question. 
​
So, are you trying to figure out when you should propose to your special someone this upcoming engagement season?

Here are some of the most popular days to take the next step in your relationship. 

• December 24 – The holiday spirit is truly alive, and it's hard not to feel the magic in the air on Christmas Eve. Why not pop the question before Santa comes to town! 
• December 25 – There are memorable Christmas gifts, and then there are really memorable Christmas gifts. Like, say, an engagement ring?  What better present to find under the Christmas Tree? 
• December 31 – Enjoy all of the glitz and glamour of New Year’s Eve by adding a ring to your finger! Maybe seal that engagement off with a kiss at the stroke of midnight? 
• January 1 – Ring in the new year, anybody? Kick off your new year with a new label–fiancée! 
• February 14 – Talk about a perfect day for all the lovers out there! Is there a more romantic day to propose?  ​​

And if you don’t want to propose on a holiday, no worries! The winter months still present plenty of opportunities for romance. They don’t call it snuggle season for nothing!
So, you’ve got a date in mind–now what? ​

Take a deep breath - Here are a few tips for proposing during engagement season:  

• Be inspired – There are a lot of great proposal ideas scattered across the web. Do some research and think about your relationship with your significant other to gather your ideas. There is no right or wrong way to purpose to your honey.  
• Personalize your proposal – don’t be a copycat; be yourself! Go to your favorite spot for a night out, take an exciting trip, or even incorporate your favorite song. There are so many ways to customize this magical moment – make sure it is memorable and unique to you! 
• Take notes – think about what you are going to say. You do not need to have your speech totally written out but spend a little time thinking through the most important points. Speak from the heart, and you can’t go wrong! 
• Plan a celebration – you don’t need to plan a full out engagement party, but make sure you have an idea of how you want to celebrate the exciting moment. Book a table at your favorite restaurant, pop a bottle of champagne, or have your friends or family waiting on the sidelines. It is an exciting moment – so celebrate it! 
• Be flexible – life happens, so be prepared to go with the flow! Don’t get caught up in all of the details – remember they will just be so happy that you asked the big question. 
• Deep breaths – we know this moment can be scary and nerve wracking! When you get nervous, take a breath and just look into their eyes. Remember, you are talking to the love of your life!
